I began this project as the Lead Technical Artist but was quickly promoted to Lead Artist of a small team of talented artists, assuming responsibility for the entire visual direction—from in-game assets to marketing materials and overall branding. My primary focus was elevating visual quality and performance across both PC and mobile platforms. Key initiatives included introducing more believable materials and effects, dynamic weather, a comprehensive dirt and snow system, HDR lighting, and expressive camera work. These efforts significantly enhanced the game's immersion and performance.
Before I arrived, the project was facing serious challenges: extremely low FPS, poor image quality, inefficient pipelines, and a limited number of game scenes. I conducted a comprehensive six-month review to eliminate technical debt, build and integrate the necessary tools for the art team, train them, and establish a fast and flexible content delivery pipeline.
A significant part of my role involved supporting the marketing team. We leveraged artificial intelligence to generate compelling image and video content, which was instrumental in promoting the project and solidifying its visual identity.
